Coronavirus: information for our delegates

12 February, 2020

In view of the continuing and escalating coronavirus outbreak and to ensure the health and wellbeing of our delegates, Ground Handling International has taken the decision to postpone the 13th Asian Conference, originally scheduled for 17-19 March 2020, until 5-7 May 2020.

Your health and safety is our number one priority. And, with the Singapore Government raising its risk assessment of coronavirus (Covid-19) to Orange level on the Disease Outbreak Response System Condition alert scale, indicating the virus is severe and spreads easily from person to person, as well as recommending that all event organisers cancel or defer large-scale events to minimise the risk of transmission – we felt compelled to defer the Conference until the risk level is reduced. We have also considered the international travel restrictions placed on many members of our aviation community at this moment in reaching this decision.

We have decided to defer until 5-7 May to give the best opportunity for the Covid-19 risk level in Singapore to reduce and this year’s conference to go ahead within a reasonable timeframe of our original dates.

This is a rapidly changing situation and one we will keep under constant review in the run up to the revised Conference dates. We will provide you with regular updates.
